Be
alert - TELEPHONE SCAMS (message from Angie
8/9/05)
1. LANDLINESYou answer the phone
and hear a voice telling you that you have won a holiday - "press 9 to hear
more". This will connect you to a premium rate line, involving a high
telephone bill. DO NOTHING except replace your receiver.
2. MOBILE PHONES
It comes up as a missed call and when you dial the number you
are connected to a premium rate line. If you get a call from a number you
don't recognise, DELETE THE MESSAGE/NUMBER from your call register.

Reports are produced by
Angie Walters. They list crimes
within the St. Neots Police Sector and,
on occasion, offer advice on topical matters.
